New decisions taken in Punjab cabinet meeting regarding vaccination of Covid vaccine will come into effect from tomorrow.
Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh today announced to start vaccination for the families of 18-44 age health workers and families suffering from co-morbidities in both public and private sectors from Friday.
Instructing about the proper utilization of the limited stock of vaccines available, the Chief Minister also directed the Health Department to initiate the process of vaccination of the co-patients in the age group of 18-44 years in view of the increasing cases of Covid in the state. For the week ended May 12, the positivity rate was 14.2 per cent and the Covid mortality rate (CFR) was 2.1 per cent.
Taking stock of the cowardly situation and immunization situation in a virtual meeting of the Cabinet, the Chief Minister asked the Health Department to start immunization program in the identified schools and other buildings for the priority groups so that the epidemic spreads due to overcrowding in government hospitals.
